FebuSave and the Home Stretch!

Febusave_supporter

We’re now heading into the final week of FebuSave and the support numbers continue to grow and are now approaching 9,000 who have committed to save during the month of February. If you are yet to join, come and show your support for women to be more financially aware to be able to successfully save for their future.

I’ve done well! I have foregone buying ‘treats’ for the entire month thus far. This was my FebuSave pledge. This has included no trips to Dan Murphy, no lattes, no Take Away meals and no eye-brow attention (ugh), and these small sacrifices has generated an estimated saving of $180. Think of the savings generated over the year, by being a little bit aware and a little bit disciplined!

My #1 FebuSave tips would have to be “Before going ahead with any purchase, ask yourself "Do I really NEED this?". The more you can answer 'No' to those small purchases, the quicker you will reach those larger goals.”

A Valentine's Day Without Gifts

Valentine's Day has always been a day to be acknowledged in this household. Not so much for its tradition and definitely not for its commercial standing but it was the day, 11 years ago that my partner and I officially announced we were a couple! This date is now a secondary anniversary, as we married two years ago.

I guess with this, it made it easier to announce last week, that we really should skip Valentine's Day this year, for it is less important and with my commitment to ANZ's FebuSave, we should hang on to our pennies! Now it's beginning to feel like FebuStingy!!

A big hug, kind words and a delicious meal cooked by my fifteen year old will suffice the occasion of Valentine's Day 2010.

We're nearly half way through FebuSave and I am on track with my pledge not to buy treats for the month. It will be difficult to monitor the savings of this with the hefty car repair bill we got earlier in the month but I guess what I have saved, will make that bill more manageable.

If you are yet to register for FebuSave to show your support it's not too late. I have to point out that I'm a bit chuffed to have my face amongst some of the other amazing FebuSave Ambassadors. Check out who else is here http://www.febusave.com/famous.php

FebuSave - Day 4 - No Treats for Me!

My FebuSave efforts have been cruising along quite nicely. I've not yet felt tempted to splurge on treats, yet! I will admit, I like a glass of wine in the evening when it's time to unwind but so far, so good!

Yesterday, I was rewarded for my participation in this amazing campaign by having my profile included amongst some amazing Australian women. What a privilege and how humble do I feel? Meet the other FebuSave supporters http://www.febusave.com/famous.php

There are now more than 7,300 supporting FebuSave and it continues to grow. If you're yet to join, please do. There are some great savings tips for everyone.
